Wodonga LAC

Wodonga LAC

Now that Victoria is opening up, the WLAC has started getting back together (in a Covid safe way of course). All our usual activities have continued, including the Friday walkers, members lunches and dinners, cards and games and concerts just to name a few.

March saw a group of members off to Echuca for a weekend trip organised by Brian. This was a great success. Morning tea on the way was held at Yarrawonga with Brian briefing the group on the forthcoming activities. The group had lunch on a paddle steamer, went on a night ghost tour of the docks and visited the Aussie Beer Shed Museum on the outskirts of Echuca. They explored the docks and the town and sourced a good coffee shop.

We also had a club sausage sizzle at a local Neighbourhood center in March which was attended by 22 members. The sausages were expertly cooked and there were far too many yummy cakes consumed. Everyone enjoyed catching up with members they hadn’t seen for a while as well as some new members.

A Neighbourhood Day was held by the Felltimber Neighbourhood Centre to showcase local groups and what they had to offer the community. WLAC attended with all our info and some members to encourage the community to join us and our activities. While not many people attended the day, we enjoyed talking to the other groups and sitting in the sun by the lake.
