The WLAC Committee wanted to bring our Club members together virtually during COVID–19 lockdown, so we held a Zoom entertainment event, a presentation by our Club, for our Club.

We are fortunate to have many talented members happy to ‘Unmask’ a bit of themselves and share hobbies, collections and talents with us all. About 65 WLAC members attended the event.

Starting with a humorous musical introduction about our frustrations at still being in lockdown in September, we then moved on to members’ presentations. We saw and learned about a variety of their collections and hobbies: a Lladro figurine and Nao collection, a collection of German log vases, a member showed his 3D printers, some beautiful tapestries made over the years and a piano and guitar recital. We also learned about building a ‘Bee Hotel’ and a hot house to grow vegetables, a cycling trip across the South Island of NZ in challenging weather and finally a member shared her 50 year old memories of 1st arriving in Melbourne as a young bride.

In all we had 11 presentations over 2 hours, a wonderful way for our members to come together and forget our lockdown blues for a little while.
