Goa in December

India is a fascinating place though not for the faint hearted!! In December I went to Goa, a State with 29 beaches that spans the entire Western side of the State and stayed at one of the resorts, where I was treated like a Queen!

I was there to attend my cousins wedding and that was a lavish affair beyond comprehension. It is winter in December which is akin to spring in Melbourne with temperatures in the mid 20’s, this allowed for a beach wedding exquisitely done with several white marquees, covered with fairy lights, gas lamps, a large stage for dancing and formalities.  And of course, lots and lots of beautiful food of various nationalities.

Other highlights were the simplicity, generosity and kindness of the people (even though they had so little) and the many churches. My first wedding in India and it certainly was a memorable experience!
