Club News Round-up: LAC Croydon

LAC Croydon delegates were pleased to attend the May LACVI  Council Zoom meeting and learn how Clubs are dealing with the COVID-19 shutdown.

Our seasonal December 2019 Dinner Dance breakup with the ‘Shearers Tally Bush Band’ celebrated yet another great year of fun activity. Then our January picnic commenced Club activities for 2020 and February began with most activities resumed. Several members offered to open their gardens and host afternoon tea as a popular ‘out and about’ option and these were well attended.

The three day Golf Getaway to Korumburra was cut short in March due to the coronavirus. Nevertheless, golfers and company fitted in just a few options, including Coal Creek Pioneers Village and Museum as well as some dining and fun.

The monthly newsletter is circulated with basic information, particularly acknowledging those with birthdays and anniversaries or health challenges. Meantime, the Committee and supporting members have been contacting members who live alone and those without internet facilities. We all look forward to reconnecting safely and sharing a celebratory function with our 153 members as this destructive virus is brought under control.

Best wishes to all our associated Clubs, may you each feel valued and supported within your family, friends and community.
