The weather remained kind (not too hot & the predicted storms by-passed the gardens) and were entertained with many well-loved opera arias.
IMLAC Members visit JEAN PAUL GAULTIER
Members with an interest in fashion or the just curious visited the Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibition at NGV on 7th January. Everyone who attended was swept away by the imagination and the prolific talent. All were challenged. Which member will be the first to wear one of the designs, assuming the income matches the prices?

IMLAC CELEBRATES 10TH BIRTHDAY AND AGM – SUNDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER 2013
On Sunday 29th September 2013 IMLAC celebrated its 10th Birthday at Amora Riverwalk Hotel, Richmond when approximately 65 members enjoyed a morning tea, the AGM and then lunch. A slide show of activities from the first 10 years was continuously scrolling to prod members’ memories of all the great times enjoyed in our first decade.
Musical entertainment was provided by a saxophonist and some members enjoyed a salsa dance to work off the effects of lunch.
Our guests for the day included LACVI President, Lindsay Doig, who, assisted by some IMLAC members, blew out the candles and cut the birthday cake.
The next 10 years has now started; what will change in the club during that time? See you to celebrate the second decade.
IMLAC MEMBERS HAVE ENJOYED SIDNEY MYER FREE CONCERTS
During February 2013 members enjoyed the annual series of free MSO concerts at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. The weather was kind (not too hot), the company good and the music enjoyable. IMLAC members met early and shared a chat and a meal together before the concerts.
Members also enjoyed some free events sponsored by the City of Stonnington; jazz in the Malvern Gardens and the opera ‘La Traviata’ at Victoria Gardens.
Club Members enjoy a cruise on the Maribyrnong River.
On a sunny Sunday morning in March approximately 20 members travelled by train from the city to Footscray and Melbourne’s second river – the Maribyrnong. After a short stroll lunch was enjoyed at a local cafe before boarding the ferry ‘Blackbird’ for a 2 hour upriver and return cruise. Our captain explained the history of the river, its former industrial uses, the wetlands and the boom in new housing close by. All members enjoyed the day, made so memorable by the company, the balmy weather, the scenery and the knowlegeable commentary.
