On the 13th March 45 people met at Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House for our annual Mystery Trip.  This activity is always so popular.  It’s the not knowing where we are going which inspires us all.

We left at 8.30am with Berwick Bus Lines, and our driver Lee, took us down the Clyde Road and onto the South Gippsland Highway.  We finished up with a lovely drive through the Dumbalk hills in South Gippsland.  Our first stop was at the Blue Tree Honey Farm at Dumbalk and what a wonderful morning we had.  We were greeted by owners Rob and Sharon with a lovely devonshire tea with homemade preserves and a cup of tea or coffee.  Plenty of other homemade jams and relishes were there for us to buy as well as tasting the many varieties of honey.

It was great watching the bees in their hive and the visual demonstration of how to extract the honey was fascinating.

After saying goodbye to Rob & Sharon we travelled to Meeniyan for a lovely two course lunch at the hotel;  we had a choice of 4 mains and 2 desserts.

Most members indulged in retail therapy in the township before heading off home.

“Another successful trip”.
