Australia Day BBQ

I am pleased to advise we had a most enjoyable day with approximately 40 people attending, even though the unpredictable weather was a possible threat.

Basterfield Park is a beautiful and relaxing setting for this activity; as well as for our Melbourne Cup Day and ANZAC Day activities. The protection of the shelter shed and the occasional breeze from the lake nearby, ensured the temperatures were both enjoyable and liveable. With both electric BBQ’s and toilet amenities close by, members did not have too far to wander.

The loyal toast to Australia Day, made by our President, Prudence Vernall, proved uplifting for our members, on this special day.

As usual, both Karin and myself made sure old and new members mixed in well with each other, to ensure a satisfying day was had by all.
