About this activity
Easy Bike Ride
Every Wednesday @ 9:00 am (Daylight saving hours only). Otherwise 9:30 am.
Why not join us on a leisurely ride along the bay bike trail from Brighton Baths to the Beachcomber Café at St Kilda Baths, rendezvousing for a coffee and chat, returning at your leisure?
If you haven’t ridden a bike for a while and would like to start again, or prefer shorter distances, this ride is perfect for you.
Wet weather doesn’t deter us from enjoying our coffee and chat – we leave our bikes at home and walk or drive to the Beachcomber.
We are a group of dedicated coffee/tea drinkers who like to cycle.
All standards of cycling ability are welcome.
Our members ride racing bikes, e-bikes, folding bikes, mountain bikes, hybrid bikes or bikes that have been proudly owned for a long time.
Lycra is not mandatory, but the ability to enjoy the company of your fellow cyclists is.
We also have the following rides – more details in the Newsletter and website Calendar / Activities pages:
Second Sundays Cycling
Rides take place on the 2nd Sunday of each month, weather permitting.
Meet at the Brighton Baths at 10.00am on the 2nd Sunday of the month for a leisurely ride along the bayside bike trail to enjoy lunch in the city via coffee at Port Melbourne.
Bring your own lunch or buy at our destination which is usually Southbank or Docklands. You have the choice of returning home under your own pedal power or via public transport.
Second Tuesdays Cycling
This ride is scheduled for the second Tuesday each month and is usually about 40kms with a designated leader.
We need names and mobile numbers prior to the event, to ensure no-one is left behind at the start and in case of change of plans on the day due to inclement weather.
Please book in advance for this ride.
Fourth Sundays Cycling
These ride are scheduled for the forth Sunday each month, are organised longer rides of about 30-40 kms.
Organised with a designated leader, they often involve either taking bikes by car or train to a destination and riding home, or vice versa.
Much is dependent on the terrain and prevailing winds and temperature on the day.
There is usually a stop for coffee and then lunch either a picnic or bought and the full details are sent out about 7-10 days beforehand.
Special tours or attractions are often included in these rides to take advantage of the locale.
